SANTO DOMINGO.- The Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, denounced an alleged discredit campaign against him and warned that will initiate legal actions against “all those who participate in this infamy ”.
She assured that, as a public servant, she has acted with «transparency, integrity and coherence ».
“I have never hidden who I am, how I live or what I think. That is why I believe that being coherent, every lie that is born has an expiration date. I do not bend or intimidate the perversities that try to spread about me ”, said the official in an Instagram video.
He said that recent rumors seek to detract from his work vis-à-vis the Interior and Police, which is aimed at strengthening citizen security, law enforcement, and a system of sanctions and real oversight. «But they are wasting their time. We know who they are, I’m not afraid ”, he said.
«Anyone can be the victim of extortion for content manipulated on social networks », which he considered as «a real threat that we must face as a society ».
He indicated that for this reason, in addition to showing his face, he will be dedicated to promoting concrete actions to prevent anyone from inventing situations that destroy the life, reputation or tranquility of a Dominican family.
He said he instructed his lawyers, as it is not only an act of personal dignity, but “also a public duty so that no one else has to be silent for fear of a lie ”.
«This is only avoided with courage, justice and truth. That this is not an individual struggle, but a common cause in defense of dignity and respect », he concluded.
